Protocol for Verifying Originality and Detecting Similarity

When submitting manuscripts to Chihuahua Hoy, authors must ensure that the text is original and unpublished, as well as properly cited according to the APA 7th Edition guidelines using reliable sources.

Upon receipt of the manuscripts, the Editorial Team will run them through a similarity check using the Turnitin and iThenticate tools to verify any similarities in the text.

The Editorial team will review each manuscript and its report to determine whether the degree and nature of similarity are excessive or minimal.

Depending on the case, authors will be notified as follows:

0% to 20%. This falls within the acceptable range, so the text will proceed to the initial reading and review process, and then be sent for double-blind peer review.

From 21% to 24%. The Editorial Team will contact the authors to provide them with the similarity report and request the necessary adjustments to reduce it.

Over 25%. The Editorial Team will notify the authors of the document’s rejection.

Any disputes regarding this matter will be resolved by the Editorial Board.
