Journal History

The ongoing research seminar “Chihuahua Hoy” was launched in 2001. In the CONACYT-SIVILLA call for proposals, the research project was awarded one of the competitive grants. The first phase of this seminar concluded with the publication of the 2003 and 2004 volumes. In 2005, the Chihuahua Institute of Culture joined the initiative, and in 2007, the Autonomous University of Chihuahua did the same.

Starting in 2016, we continued with the new format of Chihuahua Hoy. We continue to publish a variety of texts each year on topics related to the state of Chihuahua, except that each book now takes the form of a periodical. This change means that we now have a different classification within the systems used by various national and international public entities for academic publications. In addition to the general coordinator, who is now referred to as Director, and the deputy coordinator, who is referred to as Deputy Director, an Editorial Committee has been formed, composed of prominent intellectuals from various institutions.

In the pages of Chihuahua Hoy, in addition to the usual scientific and academic articles, we will be able to introduce new editorial sections.
