Ikumen, los recientes discursos sobre la paternidad activa en Japón

Resumen
El presente artículo discute el fenómeno de los ikumen – padres activos en la crianza y cuidado de sus hijos pequeños – en el Japón contemporáneo. Considerando el contexto discursivo, económico y demográfico en el cual surgió el fenómeno, se debaten los modelos hegemónicos de género, los cambios en la forma de asumirlos por parte de los jóvenes y las representaciones mediáticas alrededor de ellos, centrando la atención en los varones. Al hacerlo, se pretende visibilizar las presiones sociales a las que se enfrentan los hombres japoneses, principalmente aquellos que son o desean ser padres y aspiran a ser más que proveedores en la vida de sus hijos.
