This quantitative-exploratory study examined organizational silos and their relationship with internal factors: Structure, Culture, Leadership, Information Systems, and Incentives (Goals), in Costa Rican organizations, given their potential impact on organizational performance and the limited regional evidence. An ad hoc questionnaire (n = 100) using a 5-point Likert scale was applied, followed by descriptive analyses and Spearman correlations. The instrument showed high internal consistency. The perceived intensity of organizational silos (ISOP), the dependent variable, was moderate (M = 2.996). Structure (M = 3.255) and Culture (M = 3.130) showed the highest ISOP levels, while Incentives had the lowest (M = 2.780). PCA confirmed a unidimensional structure (63% explained variance; eigenvalue = 3.172; loadings= 0.697 to 0.847), with adequate sampling (KMO = 0.831) and a significant Bartlett’s test (p < .001). Culture (ρ = 0.664) and Structure (ρ = 0.655) showed the strongest significant associations with ISOP, indicating their key role in silo intensification.
