La cienciometría como herramienta para analizar el impacto de la investigación científica en una región

Resumen

En los años sesentas Eugene Garfield creo el sistema de identificación de citas para determinar el impacto de las publicaciones científicas, siendo el método que ha perdurado hasta el momento, con algunas variantes como el índice H, el índice g, y el CENT (sCientific currEncy Tokens), los cuales pueden ser analizados en diferentes bases de datos como Thomson Reuter, el Directorio de Journals de Acceso Abierto, Scielo y Google Scholar, entre otros, estos dos últimos mas utilizados para la información en español, también se cuenta con diferentes programas de acceso abierto para el análisis estadístico, así como la presentación de resultados por medio de mapas.
