Abstract

The otaku culture, originated in Japan but widely spread globally, presents a rich intersection of intercultural dimensions that have been the subject of study and analysis, examining various dimensions of interculturality within otaku culture, highlighting how the appropriation of cultural elements from different parts of the world intertwines with otaku identity. From the consumption of manga and anime to the influence of Western pop culture on otaku aesthetics and narrative, the cultural exchanges defining this phenomenon are explored, addressing at the same time the tensions and challenges that arise at the intersection of cultures, such as individual and cultural differences, highlighting the complexity and constantly evolving dynamics of interculturality in otaku culture, providing an overview of how this subculture merges and redefines cultural identities in a globalized world within the city of Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico.
