Work-related stress negatively affects the physical, emotional, and productive health of employees, being particularly critical at managerial levels due to their high level of responsibility and decision-making demands. This study analyzed the relationship between burnout and stress in managers of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, a sector that supports 90% of the Mexican economy, through a descriptive quantitative design. A survey using a Likert scale and the Psychosomatic Problems Questionnaire (CPP) by Hock (1988) was administered, integrating 12 items related to burnout. The sample included 150 active SME managers, with an excellent Cronbach’s alpha reliability of .843. The results showed that 42.7% reported high stress levels, 40% medium, 14% low, and only 3.3% very high, indicating that the causes were strictly work-related. These findings highlight the urgent need to implement organizational wellness programs aimed at reducing chronic stress among managerial staff, promoting healthier and more sustainable work environments. The established hypothesis was verified.
