Author Biographies

Dynhora-Danheyda Ramírez-Ochoa, Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez / Institute of Engineering and Technology

Computer Systems Engineer, with Hardware Option, Master's Degree in Computer Systems Engineering with Software option. Currently, she is a full-time professor and head of the Academic Body of Information Security Technologies at the Technological University of Chihuahua, where she has also held different positions from coordinator to department head. Her interests include analysis and decision making, as well as database security.

Luis Pérez-Domínguez, Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez / Institute of Engineering and Technology

B.Sc. in industrial engineering at the Technological Institute of Villahermosa (2000); M.Sc. in industrial engineering from the Technological Institute of Ciudad Juárez (2003); PhD in Engineering Sciences, from the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (2016). He is currently a Professor-Researcher at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez. His research interests include multi-criteria decision making, continuous and fuzzy set applications; improvement tools applied in the manufacturing field. Member of the Canadian Operations Research Society (CORS). He is also a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).

Erwin Adán Martínez-Gómez, Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez / Institute of Engineering and Technology

Industrial Engineer, Technological Institute of Tapachula (1999); Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, Technological Institute of Orizaba (2002); doctorate in strategic planning and technology management, Universidad Popular Autónoma de Puebla (2014). Professional experience: head of industrial maintenance in hospitals; customer service quality assurance coordinator; head of quality control in leather tannery, teacher and researcher at the Institute of Engineering and Technology of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (since 1999). Currently, he is involved in determining critical success factors for Six Sigma in the high-tech industry. Other specialty areas include strategic planning, quality improvement, and manufacturing systems simulation.

María Cruz Villa Uriol, University of Sheffield

Lecturer in Computer Science; member of the Organisations, Information and Knowledge Group (Oak) at the University of Sheffield, UK; member of the INSIGNEO institute for in silico medicine. She holds a degree in Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering (Barcelona, Spain), and a PhD in Computer Engineering (University of California, Irvine, USA). She held a postdoctoral position at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain) and a Research Fellow position at the University of Sheffield. Since 2006 she participated in several large European and Spanish projects. Her main research interests are the personalisation of models using computational imaging and modelling techniques, the composition of scientific workflows, and the use and development of data-driven decision-making strategies to support clinical decisions using heterogeneous data sources such as personalised VPH models, clinical databases, and mobile sensors capturing a wide variety of variables describing an individual and his/her environment. Her primary area of interest is in the cardiovascular domain with an emphasis in clinical translation.
