Abstract
In the context of an increasingly globalized world, competition intensifies, emphasizing the pressing need for tools that boost productivity and competitiveness. Among these tools, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) stands out as a fundamental pillar to achieve optimal levels of efficiency by ensuring proper maintenance of both physical and human resources. The research focuses on developing a structural model that identifies key factors influencing the effectiveness of TPM, concentrating on critical elements for successful implementation. The adopted methodological approach is non-experimental, quantitative, and cross-sectional. Data are collected from a single sample during a specific period, from September to November 2023, within the manufacturing sector of the city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua. While the research is limited in its focus on the manufacturing industry of this city, it is presented as a valuable reference to enrich theory and guide the implementation of new maintenance practices.
The proposed model, evaluated using Partial Least Squares (PLS), demonstrates a good fit to the data, highlighting the significance of relationships between latent and manifest variables. This analysis contributes to a deep understanding of factors positively impacting the effectiveness of TPM, providing a valuable framework to enhance maintenance practices and, consequently, competitiveness in the industrial environment.
